Chondrodermatitis Nodularis Helicis-Associations with autoimmune disease?

J Cutan Pathol 2005;32:329-333.

This relatively common condition may be associated with internal syndromes associated with microvascular injury. In an intriguing study in the May 2005 issue of Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, the authors note the association of the condition with systemic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, lupus, CREST syndrome, autoimmune thyroid disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and pulmonary hypertension. These patients were younger than the traditional epidemiologic profile of elderly men.

I have updated my website to review additional studies and treatments for the disease.

Does anyone have any experience with these associations? Please comment, I will post them anonymously.
